Moshi town is located at an altitude of 813 m (2667') above sea level and throughout the year has a climate which is considered enjoyable by most travellers, with average maximum day temperatures of 27 to 32 degrees Celcius (80-90 F) and minimum night temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees (60-66 F).
The city considerably grew and developed from the 1930s to 1950s through the coffee trade. Still today it is possible to visit coffee plantations at Kilimanjaro and see the coffee auction at the "Kahawa House". Several of Moshi's old buildings have been recently restored, bringing Moshi's glorious past back to life.
